Looking back on my life there have been four main constants aside from regular rejection and disdain from the opposite sex; that being Professional wrestling, politics, baseball and football. The objective of this blog is for me to get my opinions heard (or at leas written) about these topics. I will try to leave it to one of these four topics per post but who cares I may not.
This one will be about our nation's pastime: baseball.
Fantasy baseball... ok I'll admit it, I don't have the patience, knowledge or brain power to be good at this. I tried it for the first time two years ago and have found it increasingly uninteresting. Although I am 27 I seem to have an old man's view on baseball. I don't understand WAR, OPS, Slugging, pVAR, or any other abbreviation outside of rbi and obp. This year will be the last year that I participate in fantasy baseball because it has taken my focus away from more important things... like MLB the show 11 for ps3. What a great game. I am up to my third season in "Road to the Show" mode and I can't get enough of it.
The problem with fantasy is that at it's core it's math. I am awful at math. I am awful with numbers. I can literally stare at a phone number for four minutes and not have a clue to any of the numbers two seconds afterwards. I prefer playing favorites in baseball, rooting for the underdogs, and calling Nick Swisher an asshole. Fantasy baseball lets me do none of theses things.
I understand that fantasy everything has a huge following, I'm just not one of them.
